About Kirks Works Ltd

Kirks Works Ltd is an independent vehicle repair business based in Netley, Southampton, founded on real-world experience across main dealers and independent workshops.

Starting in the trade at just 14 years old, combining school with day-release college, the foundations were built early through hands-on learning and formal qualifications. This progressed into time spent in a busy independent backstreet garage working on all makes and models, gaining broad experience and completing NVQ Level 2 training.

Following this, a three-year apprenticeship at Viking Kia led to IMI Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications, before progressing to Master Technician level through the Kia Academy. Experience was gained across multiple Kia main dealers including Viking Kia, Peter Cooper Kia and Finecars Kia, working as both a Master Technician and Workshop Manager.

This background includes working on vehicles ranging from everyday cars to £100,000+ performance and luxury models, with responsibility for complex diagnostics and high-value repairs.

Kirks Works Ltd specialises in complex mechanical and electrical repair work that many garages avoid. This includes in-depth fault diagnosis, advanced electrical issues, and major mechanical rebuilds such as engines, gearboxes, differentials and transfer boxes.

Specialist experience also covers Ford wet belt replacements, Ingenium timing chain, and the repair of air suspension components on vehicles such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

The focus is simple: accurate diagnosis, high-quality workmanship, and doing the job properly the first time — whether it’s a routine repair or a fault other garages couldn’t solve.

Ford 1.0L EcoBoost Complete Wet Belt Replacement Kit

Following Official Manufacturer Repair Procedures

Keep your Ford EcoBoost engine running smoothly and reliably with our complete wet belt replacement package.
This all-in-one kit includes everything required to replace both wet belts and carry out a full service — including the timing belt, oil pump belt, tensioners, pulleys, seals, fixings, and all essential components.

Why it’s important

Over time, the wet belts in EcoBoost engines can break down and release rubber particles into the oil system.
If not replaced in time, these particles can block vital oil passages, leading to severe engine damage or total failure.

Ford has updated the official service intervals over the years:

  • Originally: 15 years / 150,000 miles

  • Revised to: 10 years / 150,000 miles

  • Latest recommendation: 10 years / 100,000 miles

However, in real-world use, we’ve seen belts fail at as little as 40,000 miles.

For peace of mind, we recommend replacement every 8 years or 80,000 miles, especially for vehicles with a good service history and the correct oil specification.
